Second Proposal
Here is my answer to the question from the board member about sharing computers. I did not really know about this until this assignment. I think this would be a great idea for school computer labs even if the Internet would not be assessable on every monitor. The cost if significantly lower and I think that would be the BOE's favorite thing of all. So to view my second proposal and see the lower costs click here.

attempt numero dos
OK, here is my second attempt at this assignment. I uploaded it to Google docs instead of using the FTP. I also did a cost analysis spreadsheet. Everything is linked to the executive document which can be viewed by clicking here. I hope this works and looks better than the first attempt!

Computer Lab
Okay, here is my computer lab proposal for the board and let me tell you it was frustrating to get it up on the Internet for some reason. Neither my FTP site or google documents was working but after working a few hours I got it finally to work on my FTP site. This was a sort of fun assignment. I like planning things and this was something fun to plan and present. To view my executive document click here. The links for my presentation, charts and graphics are in the letter. Hopefully everything works correctly!

Presentation to Board of Education
Well, I finally got my Executive Summary uploaded onto google documents. This assignmnet was really tough for me. I couldn't find out anything on the interent so I had to call people to find infomation about Barbour County Schools and about the cost of microsoft. Dr. Pierce told me to call this one company and they helped me out wonderfully. I found a great price for academic system computers. Some things that would need to be considered though before this presentation was really given was whether the computers in the schools were macs or windows and to find out the number of laptops and desktops in the schools. The place I found the quotes was www.softmart.com. I talked to a nice guy named Steve. So here is my spreadsheet, my presentation and my executive letter. all these were done with OpenOffice which is something else I had trouble with. I do have to say that I like Micorsoft word way better.

So far I have learned alot of different strategies for moving files between computers. Before this class I used mainly email attachment and usb drive and the occasional FTP. But now I am able to use my blog and use Google documents as well. Along with that I have learned that different file extension (how you save a document) will help in in transferring them to places like your bog and also help you pull them up easier. Since this class most of my files are stored many places. I would probably say that most are in my bog and then there is my usb drive. I think some of these storage devices do have disadvantages, like the usb drive. You have to make sure that you have it with you always so that if you need to get a file you are able. I think the est bet is the FTP or the email attachment. I also like the blog idea now, all my thoughts and work are in one place.

Evaluation
So far I enjoyed this class. I have learned so many new things in just a few short weeks. I though inthe beginning that I would have a really hard time figuring out everything but I haven't. I finished everything before the due date and did the requirements for each assignments. I also went through and made sure all my links worked the way they were supposed to and so far everything looks good. Hopefully I can keep doing good for the rest of this course.

Photo Story
I really enjoyed doing this project. I liked collecting the different pictures and then personalizing it with music, text and narration. I thought it would take me along time to do this and it only took a couple of hours working on it to get it what I wanted. I hope this turned out ok and everyone enjoys my story!
